Fig. 23.9 Addison's disease: calcified adrenal glands. This coned anteroposterior (AP) film of the upper abdomen demonstrates calcified adrenal glands, seen in some patients with Addison's disease. An identical appearance, however, may be found incidentally in patients without evidence of adrenal disease (the so-called 'idiopathic' calcification of the adrenals).
